What's the name of the Tall Building recently built in Dubai, United Arab Emirates?
Q. Are there any other Tall Buildings as tall as it or close or taller in the Gulf countries of the Middle East. The Gulf Countries are Kuwait, Baharain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar. Will this Building help United Arab Emirates Economy in any way?.
Asked by HEY DAY - Fri Jan 15 18:18:44 2010 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The building is called the Burj Khalifa, or Khalifa Tower. There are some tall buildings in the Gulf but none as tall as this one or anywhere near its height anywhere. As for the economy who knows, it opened up a lot of office space that's for sure and maybe it will lure businesses to set up shop there to have an exclusive address, that's usually part of the reason to build a "first" type of building. More info about Dubai and the entire Gulf at the website below.

Should US Corp Tax Code be more like United Arab Emirates, below?
Q. A recent KPMG study ranked the United Arab Emirates as having the highest average statutory tax rate of 55 percent among the 86 countries it studied. However, it turns out the UAE has no federal corporate tax, only provincial ones. The top rate for any industry may be 55 percent, but in practice it applies only to oil companies, and sometimes lawmakers "negotiate" special rates with individual companies as high as 85 percent. In contrast, foreign banks are taxed at just 20 percent, and some industries aren't taxed at all.

A. First of all it's not easy to find a job from outside. Recruitment are normally done by the companies by either appointing some agents in other countries or from local market. They advertise in local papers and select the best that is available. I do not from which place u hail, but I would advice you to register with any local employment agencies or look out for the ads in the papers/ web sites. You could also send your CV to important airlines. You don't have to necessarily restrict your choice to the airlines of emirates. There are many airlines flying in and out of the emirates. It is best to try and come here on a visit visa (valid for 60 days and extendable for another 30 days - for a fee- and start looking over for a job. You… [cont.]

Websites blocked in United Arab Emirates?
Q. I live in united arab emirates, and the government there is blocking amost 40% of the websites, even those that doesnt contain bad stuff. Is there a way to unblock them? Is it illegal? What can happen if i try it?
Asked by coolsrodude2 - Wed Apr 30 10:05:11 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. there's no way you can unblock them, but you can ask the authorities to reconsider those sites which you believe should not be block. however, try to get an Internet service provider that doesn't go thru the telephone lines which by the way is how the authorities can block the sites you are trying to access. direct satellite Internet by stream link is one which is not being block i believe. however, you have to pay more for the services.
